Welcome to
West Cork Oral Heritage!

WCOH are voluntary, not-for-profit, community-based organisation set up in 2012 to record and preserve the memories of West Cork’s past for the future. Our Project aims to tell the story of West Cork through its oral history and folklore, by recording and archiving the memories, experiences, customs, traditions and practices of the area from the local people’s own perspective, for the benefit of all. If you would like
to get involved with our project or become a Volunteer Collector, you can find out more HERE

an open kind of a landing or something when he was a young fellow, and
they had only an earth floor with a square of cement put in so that they
could learn to dance.
